Why is there a need for “Focus on our Troops”?
Our mission is simple: to provide eyecare items for our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
As eyecare professionals, the members of the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians (NJSOP) are committed to educating the public about the importance of maintaining good eye health. We want to send that same message to our troops overseas, but we need your help.
As you can imagine, each day our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan are exposed to the fine, gritty desert sand. These conditions make it extremely difficult to keep sand from entering the eye. As a result, eyecare items such as eye drops and eye wash are needed to help soothe and relieve our troops' eyes. That is why the “Focus on our Troops” initiative was created.
By sending these eyecare items, you’ll be helping us to send the message to our dedicated men and women to FOCUS on their future. We are proud to be working with the non-profit volunteer-based organization, AdoptaPlatoon, in helping us to collect eyecare items in order to help improve the quality of life for our troops.
